Div.vy Reading
"The Land of Letters"
Imagine giving your students the ability to read, spell, and define
4 (and more) syllable words independently!

Every lesson in "The Land of Letters" incorporates decoding, encoding, and defining. It is intended to augment your current reading program, providing an effective way to unlock multisyllabic words for all learners. Traditional instruction focuses largely on decoding, and is inexplicably cast aside after Grade Two. Unfortunately, this is just as students are moving on to multisyllabic words where decoding, encoding, and defining are most beneficial.
In the "The Land of Letters", students use letter relationships and two "either/or" questions to decode and encode even the longest "Elephant Words". Each lesson ends with students reading and defining the "Elephant Word" with the help of a context-rich sentence. Each lesson provides practice in the three essential independent literacy skills of reading, writing, and gaining meaning with words that they perceive as insurmountable.
